How to install Aptoide TV on Google TV

Google TV is a smart TV operating system based on Android TV. You can install popular streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and more just like with Android TV. It also offers a variety of features to help you find and watch the content you love, including personalized recommendations, voice search, and the ability to continue watching your shows across multiple devices.

Google TV now become more and more popular among many devices including Chromecast and Smart TVs running Google TV OS like Hisense, TCL, Sony, etc.

Why third-party TV app store for Google TV?

Google TV comes with play store. But TV play store application does not allow all Android apps and games like on your mobile. It offers only TV compatible or filtered list of apps and games. However, you can use mobile only games and apps with the help of a mouse, game controller, etc. But it is so hard to install those apk files on TV. That’s why we need third-party TV app store.

Do not install Android app stores designed for mobile devices like AC Market, Happymod, Aptoide and etc. Because those app stores does not suggest and provide TV apps. Day by day mobile games and apps are optimized for TVs. You will miss those TV versions if you use Android mobile app stores. Instead use only TV app stores like Aptoide TV, Applinked or FileSynced. How to install Aptoide TV

Step 1: Install “Downloader” web browser

We need to use web browser application in order to download this app store. Here we are using “Downloader by AFTVnews” web browser app for TVs. Follow below steps to install this web browser quickly.

1. First open “Play Store” application of your TV.
2. Then go to search and type “downloader”.
3. Select “Downloader by AFTVnews” from search results.
4. Now select “Install” button to begin installation.

Step 2: Allow “Unknown Sources” permissions

By default Google TV does not allow install apk file from other sources apart from play store. Since we are using Downloader app to install apk file, we had to allow “Downloader” app to install apk file. Follow below mention instructions to grant permissions.

1. Go to “Settings” -> “Device Preferences” -> “Security & Restrictions” -> “Unknown Sources”.
2. There you will see list of installed apps and games. Scroll and find “Downloader by AFTVnews” app.
3. Select it to grant permissions.

Step 3: Installing Aptoide TV

1. Now open “Downloader” app.
2. Enter “610871” on the URL input area of this web browser application and press “enter” to load.
3. It will automatically download Aptoide TV apk to your TV.
4. You will see “Install” button once download complete. Therefore do not close this web browser till download completed.
5. Grant required permissions while installing.

Step 4: Allow Aptoide TV to install apps and games

Just like with “Downloader” web browser, Aptoide TV too blocked from installing apps and games by default. Follow below mention instructions to grant permissions to install apps and games.

1. Go to “Settings” -> “Device Preferences” -> “Security & Restrictions” -> “Unknown Sources”.
2. There you will see list of installed apps and games. Scroll and find “Aptoide TV” app.
3. Select it to grant permissions.
